Some of the WordPress blog templates are, well to me, just plain boring. The default template that most of use to start an insurance blog is probably the most boring template I have ever seen. All you can do is type paragraph after paragraph in a single column, then if you want to include Google AdSense ads, the only place to put them is between the paragraphs of the post. Let’s look at a very simple way to “divide” the blog page into two columns using simple “tables”.

In the process of creating more and more insurance blogs, we will, at the same time, help the AmPmInsure.Org Insurance Community grow. Our insurance blogs are actually “sub-domains” of the main “domain” and our blogs are already linked there. It is important that we create an exchange link from our insurance blogs back to the community. We will look at some different ways of creating this link.

We previously “Activated” plugins for your insurance blog to help make the blog more “user friendly” and now we need to add some “Navigation” to our insurance blog, so we, as well as, our visitors can easily move around the different areas of the blog.

I hope that you understand that the first priority in building your insurance blog is to create a minimum of 4 “Blog Categories” and write a minimum of 2 “Posts” to each category. You will then be ready to create a Google AdSense account and start using the “ads” on your insurance blog. You will find a very informative “Blogtimize” help section in your AdSense account. There are several ideas created by Google to make the most of your AdSense ads. We will discuss a couple of ad placement ideas in this section.

AdSense ads for “Search” allows your insurance blog visitors to search for information on the web, as well as, within the pages of your insurance blog. Setting up the “Search” ads is basically the same as the “Content” ads, with just a little more customization.

Most of the WordPress templates we will use in creating an insurance blog will have a plug-in included, called “AdSense Deluxe”. This feature when “Activated” will create an abbreviated ad code, which I call an “Ad Slug”. I’m sure that is not the correct “computer” term, but this is our insurance blog and we will just call it an “Ad Slug”. Here’s how it works.
