After you have chosen your blog title, written your blog description, outlined your blog categories, and received your login information from Lakemen, you are ready to set up the “Admin” section of your blog.
After your insurance blog has been uploaded to the server, Lakemen will send you a PM or e-mail message with your blog’s login information.
Once you have logged in to your blog, you will be face-to-face with your “Dashboard”. It looks something like this:

OK, the first thing we want to do is to “Activate” some plug-ins that will make our insurance blog more user friendly. So, Click on the “Plugins” tab.
This should bring you to the “Plugins Management” page.
Click on “Activate” for each of the above plugins.
If you should happen to go back to your blog’s home page just to see what you’ve done, you probably won’t see any difference at this point, but you will very shortly.
That’s all about “Plugins” for right now. As your insurance blog grows and as you grow more comfortable with it, you may want to use other “Plugins” that are available.
Now, we want to focus on how our insurance blog will look to the world, so we will work on:
Let’s work with the “Presentation” Tab first, so Click on “Presentation”.
You should now see this:
Click on the “Themes” Tab.
On this page you will see a number of “Theme” templates and I would suggest that initially you choose the “WordPress Default 1.6″ default template. Just click on it. This is how your blog will look to the world.
You can always change your page template later, but it is a lot easier to give instructions if everyone is using the same template, at least at first.
Please Note: You cannot upload different theme templates to your blog, but if you find a template you like, just PM Lakemen and maybe he will upload it for you.
“Header Image and Color” Tab
We aren’t going to put much focus on this area, the blog template looks as good as it is probably going to get. If you do want to experiment with some different color combinations, this is the place to do it. Be sure and “Save” any changes.
We’re going to give the “Sidebar Widgets” Tab a section of its own, because we need to look at a graphic.
